Troubleshooting Browsing over VPN - C1: Ping remote computers by NetBIOS Name, or FQDN.

If the VPN client can ping the remote resources but no browse the Network Neighborhood or My Network Places, this Master (or computer) browser issue. You may want to add WINS to the VPN and client. Otherwise, you may use ip instead of name to map the remote resources. You may have many options to do so. You can create batch file to map the remote network drives or create a shortcut, for example, net use h: \\chicagotech\data. These links may help.
