Can’t access the router after reset

Situation: One of our clients called and told he could not access the internet any more after reset the Netgear router. He could not even access the router.

Troubleshooting: ipconfig command displayed that the computer was using static ip: 192.168.2.2/255.255.255.0. We believe that Netgear router is 192.168.0.0/24 as default ip range. He could ping the router because they were in the different subnets.

Resolution: Re-configure the TCP/IP using DHCP. After confirmed it worked, made a change on both router and computer to the original settings.
