How to Give a User the Ability to Send Mail on another user’s Behalf

There are two ways to assign a user to send mail on another user’s behalf.

A. Use Outlook to delegate a user to send mail on another user’s behalf,

Follow these steps.

1.

In Outlook, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Delegates tab.

2.

To grant permissions to a new user or group, click Add.

Outlook provides the Address Book, from which you can select users.

3.

Click a user, and then click OK.

Outlook provides a Delegate Permissions dialog box for the selected user.

4.

In the Delegate Permissions dialog box, grant the selected user access Editor permissions on the Inbox folder.

5.

The roles you can assign here are the same as the roles you can assign using an individual folder's Permissions dialog box.

B. Use Active Directory Users and Computers to give a user to send mail on another user’s behalf.

To use Active Directory Users and Computers to give a user to send mail on another user’s behalf, follow these steps.

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. Right-click on the user who will give a user to send mail on his/her behalf.
  3. Select Exchange General.
  4. Click Delivery Options.
  5. Under Send on behalf screen, click Add.
  6. Select the user you want to give him/her to send mail.
  7. Click OK to close.
