How to turn on or turn off Favorites on Outlook  - Step by step with screenshots 

Outlook 2013: right click on the mailbox and select Show in Favorites or Remove Favorites.

Outlook 2010: highlight the Inbox. Click View, and then click on Navigation Pane. Check or uncheck Favorites.
