How to define a cleaning slot in Backup Exce

Before configuring a cleaning job, you must define a cleaning slot that contains the cleaning tape.
To define a cleaning slot, please follow these steps:

1. Open Backup Exec.

2. On the navigation bar, click Devices.
3. Navigate Robotic Libraries, and then click the drive which you are setting up the cleaning. In our example it is Backup1>Robotic Libraries>EXABYTE 1>EXABYT 1 [0007..0007] (See Figure below)
4. In the right pane. right-click on Slots that contains the cleaning tape and select Propreties.
5. Check Cleaning slot and click OK to save.

To run a cleaning job

On the navigation bar, click Devices.
Click Robotic Libraries, and then click the drive or robotic library containing the drive, and then select the drive.
Under Drive Tasks in the task pane, select Clean.
Select the appropriate options as follows:
