HP Blade server NIC mapping and configuration

 

Case 1: In this case, we have HP Half Blade Server in Bay 9 without Mezzanine card. That means we have only two NICs. Note: if we want to add more NICs, we need to add Mezzanine card and two more internal  switches.

 

From the screenshot, we can see that both NICs are using port 9 in both interconnect Bay 1 and 2.

 

 

Here are our configuration:

 

In Bay1, the NIC is connecting to default VLAN which is VLAN 1.

 

interface GigabitEthernet0/9
switchport mode access
spanning-tree portfast

 

In Bay2, the NIC is connecting to VLAN 800 that is our SAN

 

interface GigabitEthernet0/9
witchport access vlan 800
switchport mode access
spanning-tree portfast trunk
