Windows Firewall running on DC -
"Windows Firewall
cannot run because another program or service is running that might use the
network address translation component (Ipnat.sys)." Situation: One of our clients had installed Windows server 2003 SP1to on their Domain Controller with Exchange 2003. When attempting to enable Windows Firewall their received this message: "Windows Firewall cannot run because another program or service is running that might use the network address translation component (Ipnat.sys)." Recommendation: It is not recommend to enable Windows Firewall on the domain controller. If for some reasons, you do want to enable Windows Firewall in the Windows 2003, you may need to disable the RRAS. To do that, right-click on My Computer>Manager>Services and Applications>Services. Disable Routing and Remote Access service. Post your questions, comments, feedbacks and suggestions Related Topics Troubleshooting Windows Server2003 SP1 Issues Microsoft Windows New release Issues
