Troubleshooting Virtual PC for Mac

Situation: We just added one Mac with Virtual PC for Mac. We experience the following problems:

1. Can't join the domain.

2. Logon take long time to logon.

3. IP doesn't match the LAN IP range. For example, the LAN IP range 10.0.0.0/8 while Virtual PC's IP is 192.168.131.71.

Resolution: For Virtual PC for Mac, you have three options to setup networking. If you don't need the networking features and want the best performance, disable networking. By default, Virtual PC for Mac enables networking and shares Mac's TCP/IP connection using NAT. The shared networking option may bring above three problems. For the better performance, you may want to enable Virtual Switch so that Mac and Virtual PC use different connections.

To enable Virtual Switch, hold Command key. Select PC from the top menu and then PC Settings. Click on Networking, the networking settings displays on the left pane. Check the Virtual Switch and close it.
