How to Configure Send Connector in Exchange 2010 - Step by step with screenshots

Exchange 2010 does not create a send connector by default. If this is the first exchange 2010 in the organization, you must configure the send connector manually. To configure a Send Connector using EMC:

1. Open EMC and navigate to Organization Configuration >Hub Transport.

2. Select Send Connectors tab.

3. Right click in the result pane of EMC and select New Send Connector…

4. In the New Send Connector Wizard, enter send connector name and select Internet from the drop down Menu.

5. Click the Add button and add an SMTP address space of * to route all mail to external domains over this Send Connector.

6. In most cases, leave it configured to use DNS MX record to route mail automatically.  If you route your outgoing mail via an ISP smart host or email security service choose that option and enter the IP address or DNS name of the smart host. You can add more than one smart host if necessary.

7. In the Source Server, select the Hub Transport server(s). Click Next to continue.

8. Follow the wizard to Finish.
